Upper School News
by Jakub Vacin
The Upper School A-wing renovation project has been moving along as planned, according to the school’s official website. The project, which began boots-on-the-ground work in May, is now seemingly well into construction, with no anticipated completion date yet publicly accessible. The teacher collab room is undergoing remodeling, the roof is being retiled, the walls are all being primed and repainted, and many other technical aspects are being reworked through the hall and its classrooms. Most notably, however, are the changes in the classrooms. At least two classrooms are now doubled in size. As a result, the controversial historical mural on the back and hallway-side wall of Mr. Waller’s History classroom – featuring American history from the Colonial Era to the Civil Rights Movement, and controversially included an image of lynching – has been removed along with the wall it sat on. There are no stated plans to create a new one without the controversial images. Regardless, progress is going according to plan according to the administration, and students should expect to see it finished not long after the academic year begins.
